Moving into a brand-new home should be full of excitement, not overwhelm. As Utah County Professional Organizers, our goal is to take what can often be a stressful, drawn-out process and transform it into a seamless, fully set-up experience from day one. We had the opportunity to do just that for a client in Mapleton, Utah whose home had been thoughtfully designed and even featured in the Parade of Homes.
Referred to us by her friend, our client had already poured so much intention into the design of her home alongside her interior designers. She didn’t want to spend weeks (or months) living out of boxes. Instead, she wanted to walk into a fully finished and beautifully organized space. Here are the steps we took to make that happen.
Step One: A Strategic Plan Before the First Box Was Opened
Before unpacking began, we created a detailed plan for every space in the home. This included mapping out a general idea of where items would live, measuring drawers and shelves, and sourcing products that would not only function well but also complement the home’s elevated aesthetic. Every basket and container was intentionally selected to fit each space perfectly.
This pre-planning step is what allows us, as Utah Professional Organizers, to work efficiently and with purpose.

Step Two: A Fully Functional Kitchen & Pantry from Day One
We started in the heart of the home: the kitchen and pantry. Instead of simply placing items into cabinets, we created a system that would support our client’s daily routines.
Baking powders were decanted into OXO containers to keep ingredients fresh while maintaining a clean, uniform look. Frequently used powders for smoothies and dry goods were transferred into stackable glass canisters for convenience. Drawers were fitted with Everything Drawer Organizers to create designated spaces for utensils, kitchen tools, and drink packets. Spices were labeled and placed into matching jars.
We also incorporated acrylic turntables and deep acrylic bins for vitamins and health supplements to maximize visibility and accessibility, ensuring that nothing would get lost in the back of a deep shelf.

Step Three: A Pinterest-Worthy Primary Closet
In the primary closet, we took a highly detailed and personalized approach. Clothing was not only organized by category, but also color-coded separately for our client and her husband. This included everything from everyday wear to workout clothing, creating a visually cohesive and easy-to-maintain system.
We used black velvet hangers for tops, s-hooks for denim, and hanging clips for athletic shorts to create a uniform look. We also added acrylic drawer dividers to keep smaller items neatly folded. Even shoes were thoughtfully arranged, and socks were meticulously sorted by length.
This level of detail is what elevates a space from simply “organized” to professional organized.

Step Four: Streamlined and Elevated Bathrooms
In the primary bathroom, we focused on streamlining daily routines while maintaining a polished look. We used storage boxes along with acrylic multi-purpose bins to categorize backstock products, creating a designated cabinet for extras that kept countertops clean and uncluttered.
Guest bathrooms were set up with intention as well, fully equipped and ready for visitors from the moment our clients moved in. Fresh towels, neatly arranged toiletries, and thoughtfully organized drawers ensured that guests would feel instantly comfortable and ready to unpack.

Step Five: Thoughtful Kid’s Spaces
For their five-year-old daughter, we designed systems that were both adorable and easy for her to maintain independently. In her closet, we used cream velvet kid’s hangers to keep clothing accessible.
Her bathroom was organized with simplicity in mind, making it easy for her to find and put away her items. In the playroom, we incorporated white metal baskets to store toys and activities, along with a Kid’s Memory Box to give her a special place for keepsakes.
Every system was designed to grow with her while supporting independence and routine.

Step Six: A High-Functioning Garage Setup
The garage is often one of the most overlooked spaces in a home, but for this family, it was essential. With a strong focus on biking, running, and outdoor hobbies, we created a system that made accessing gear simple and intuitive.
We brought in a trusted handyman to install Steady Racks for bike storage, maximizing vertical space and making bikes easy to grab and go. Sports equipment and holiday decor were sorted into multi-purpose bins and weathertight bins, ensuring everything had a designated home and stayed protected.
This transformed the garage into a highly efficient extension of their active lifestyle.

Step Seven: The Finishing Touches & A Fully Set-Up Home
By the time we completed the project, every drawer and cabinet had been intentionally outfitted and organized. Products were not only practical but also aligned with the home’s aesthetic, creating a cohesive feel throughout.
Our clients didn’t have to “settle in” over time. They were able to immediately live in and enjoy their home exactly as it was designed to be used.
This is what sets Nice & Neat Homes apart. We don’t just unpack boxes, we create systems that support you in your new chapter.
If you’re planning a move in Mapleton, Utah County, or beyond, our team is here to help you skip the stress and step straight into a home that feels functional and beautiful from day one.
